Lifting Tower Brief pt.2
After all of our workload sorted I just wen on doing tests and playing around with ideas. We were told to use simple shapes and bald colours, so I just played around with those ideas-
So in this one I played around with the idea of a christmas tree and then try to play around with the visuals and see what comes out of it. You can see the marks for the window and the anchor point for the triangles because (again) it was a test. Another thing I did, was some snow. My team wanted to make it a bit more original so they asked me to make the snow flakes triangular.

My Academic Year Presentation
So on Monday bright and early we started off with our reflective presentations about our academic year. From what I gathered during other presentations, is that everyone was freaking out this year as much and maybe even more so as I was. In a way that made me feel better, but then again I felt like if I would have reached out to anyone from the course a bit more and talked about how I had second thoughts about the course it would have helped to know that more or less everyone was going through it. But it was amazing to see what everyone came up with in the end and I really thought a lot of course mates woe took a new direction and their work looked exciting. It also gave me a few ideas on what people I would like to collaborate with next year or even after uni. As for my presentation, I think it went well, I did find repeating myself a few times and getting stuck, but in general I was happy with the way it went and I was not nervous at all. Mainly because I actually practiced it in front of a mirror. I felt a lot more confident talking about my work and I think my presentation skills have improved, but it is hard to say since I did not had a chance to see myself present. When I was rehearsing I thought I used my hands to much and was too fidgety so I kept that in the back of my mind while presenting. Alos I have made super cool letter head so I thought I'd show it off somewhere!

Fun In The Sun
Once I felt like the sketch was dynamic and and I was happy with it I proceeded onto refining it:
I resided the dog to make it a bit more proportionate to the girl and I have made him facing forward because I wanted to emphasises the facial features of my characters.
The I applied a mask for the characters and started off doing the shadows. Back hen I was making posters with Wing for applied I discovered clipping masks which made my life so much easier. So I applied that to this drawing.
Then I applied a separate layer of high lights incase I wanted to re adjust it and if i did not like it it would be easier to erase. Once I was happy with the colouring I moved onto the background.
I did not want the background to take any attention away from the characters yet help set the action for them. So I figure simple field with couple of trees would do.To finish it off and give it a bit more depth and highlight the characters, for darker contrast I put it some mountains in the back. So here is the finished drawing.

Pitch Perfect: Presentation
Pitch Perfect: Finance research
Providing it doesn't hamper your ability to operate effectively, keep your start-up costs to a minimum. Spending more will place greater pressure on you to generate more money quicker. Saddle yourself with too much debt and you will increase your chances of failure.
Then make a separate monthly costs calculation, so this would include rent, insurance, bills, soft wear licenses. Then calculate the bear minimum it would take us to survive a month if we were to spend the minimum amount of expenses. Then calculate the annual costs and that would show us how much we would need to charge, as we would know how much we need for expenses, then double that because you need include any additional costs and profit. Another thing we should consider is bank loans, how much of a percentage they charge for business loans. That is pretty realistic to think about loaning money for a startup. Another thin I was really surprised about to find out was that in Lithuania, you have to pay 40% of your income for taxes. I thought that was in sane, because it is almost half! How are you supposed to break even?! Anyway in UK the situation is a lot better, the taxes are only 20% so I figured starting a business here would be a lot of better. Then I went on trying to calculate what my dad advised me to.
I went over this information with Wing and we both agreed we would have to hire an accountant. I started looking up how much does it cost to hire an accountant, Wing mentioned that one of her friends studies accounting and he would charge about 5000 per year. But that is just for students, obviously a professional one would cost significantly more. Another thing I remembered from last years business start ups seminars was that it is better to pay yourself minimum wage and pay the rest in dividends.
Lone Digger video
I found a new video to obsess about! This is the single most insane music video I have seen so far. I am re watching it for the 20th time and I am still not tired of it. It goes so well with the music, if anything it sells it even better. I was aware of Caravan Place before it it seemed to be taking a completely different turn with this video, it is a lot darker, a lot more naughty and sure as hell more cool. I love the single toned 3d feel to it, the lighting, colour scheme character design, camera positioning, very single aspect of it seems to be polished out to help and tell the story. The story escalates really quickly during the second chorus but I think it kind of amplifies the music it self with that break out of sudden violence.
For some reason I fell in love with the dog gang, I kind of liked them more than the cats. Can't say that i didn't see where it was going but the dog gang seemed so natural and realistic, it real made me believe the character were real. Just their body language was so subtle, that is probably what made me like them so much and ultimately in a really weird way I found myself rooting for them.
The violence scene was mind blowing to me, straight up, it has nothing on action movies. It's fast paced, the camera angles are amazingly placed and paced. And the ending leaves you with a strong emotion.
Overall, Lone Digger is an eyegasm. I don't think that's a word, but that is how it made me feel. It is just so satisfying to watch and it does it's job so well. I know for a fact I would have not went on got the song if not for the video.

Brand Me: Showreel
I have spent hours of research. I kept thinking about my work and what kind of music would suit it. For some reason I looked up russian gypsy music because. Mainly because i thought the upbeat fast pace would work-
Once the music was picked, putting together the show reel was a piece of cake, I have kept all the image sequences for all the projects I have done recently so all of it was high quality and same size. This saved me a lot of time because I could have spent hours figuring out how make all the footage the same. So in the end I am really happy bout my showreel and i have put it up on my page immediately.

Brand Me: Creating a Page
As the page was made I picked the most recent work of mine, basically the one I thought would be the most relevant for my speciality. I kept in mind that if I were an employer what would I look for? So I built the page around that idea. I am real happy with how it turned out and I am going to be happy with sending it to studios asking for internships or jus any type of work. After the first day, already 12 likes! such popularity, many famous, wow. So check it out-
