Lifting Tower Brief pt1

Recently we were offered to take part in a paid brief. I jumped at the chance because it kills two birds with one stone- experience and a bonus on PPP. We were briefed on the project and basically we a month to get it done we would work in groups and we would have to create christmasy projections for the lifting tower. It was really exciting because we had an opportunity to work with people from other courses and for me it was interesting to do projection mapping for the first time. The idea was to create tasteful projections because the location of the display would be in a business part of city centre but nothing that children could watch. Also ideally it would compliment the building it would be display on. We were also instructed about the colours, it was recommended to work on dark backgrounds, contrasting bright colours because the projection usually washes down the colours so you cant really see tones or shades. Also it would be a brick building so we need to consider the texture , if the designs are too thin it might distort the image. I was grouped up a bit later on so my group already had an idea they work working around. I felt a bit useless teamwork wise when we were brainstorming because I could bring any ideas to the table, the idea was to play around with some characters like a yeti, penguins, snow  and stuff like that. We ended up deciding on who is responsible for what, so the illustrator dude was responsible for the all of the designs and attributes and the rest of us were responsible for animating. I took up doing fillers, basically transitions between animations, and Lauren and Emma did the main animations.
