How to be professional

When you have to speak to someone- clear on what you want. Sometimes it's better to get im touch by calling or in person, but you need to consider what suits you. Do homework about where you're applying or who you need to speak to. Let them understand who they are engaging with. Be concise. Flatter them but don't "brown nose" just to show off you did research on them. Tell them what you enjoy but be open to any way in. Subscribe to job boards and respond quickly. Being prepared and efficient is very important. Basically the early bird with a good portfolio gets the job.

Be courteous. You should not demand or expect anything from people you apply to because you're not employed yet. Don't be rude, everyone has a long memory. Be respectful. Politeness costs nothing.

Everyone starts somewhere so learn to make a good cupnof tea if necessary! Internships are easier to find than jobs because it is a way of testing you risk free. Everyone gets rejected so don't be bitter about it.
