Clarence is an American animated television series created by Skyler Page for Cartoon Network. The series revolves around a young boy named Clarence, who is optimistic about everything, and his two best friends Jeff and Sumo. Page, a former storyboard artist for Adventure Time and revisionist for Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, developed the series at Cartoon Network Studios as part of their shorts development program in 2012.
Why I am obsessed with this series? Basically because it captivates the charm and wonders of a child-like imagination. Oftentimes when I watch it I think to myself- I used to do/think that too. Clarence taps into that childhood world no matter the dim everyday surroundings, he manages to be hyper enthusiastic about anything and everything. Even Walt Disney said "That's the real trouble with the world, too many people grow up. They forget. They don't remember what it's like to be twelve years old. They patronize; they treat children as inferiors". And I think you can see that in Clarence as well, his mother is completely ignorant to her sons imagination and fascination with the world. It makes you think how much more fascinated with the world we would be if we could tap into the same state of mind like a twelve-year old.
Well anyway, it's nicely animated, has great sense of humor and above all else is not empty in its content.
